Simply put, John Libby Construction helped us build our dream home in Bath, Maine in 2023. Being Bath residents for the last 16 years, we knew we wanted to remain in Bath but were having a very hard time finding a home on the market which fit our criteria. With a little bit of luck, we found a parcel of land for sale in Bath in 2022. Knowing absolutely nothing about this build process, we decided to dive in head first and purchase land for our future home. After the closing we decided to meet with several local builders in Maine. Upon researching various websites, we came across John Libby Construction in Harpswell, ME. After reviewing their website, sample projects and builds, testimonials and local feedback, we decided to call and schedule a consultation. Caitlyn promptly returned our phone call to schedule a face to face meeting with John Libby where we would walk our land. This was a very important moment in the process for us because some of the other builder meetings we had were held at their offices initially. For John, it was important to walk our land with us to talk through the process and fully understand what options we had available. We met him at the site in August, 2022. John was very professional and gave us ample information to make a sound decision about our build. After the meeting we considered many factors but ultimately decided to accelerate our build timeline with John Libby Construction as our builder. We broke ground in December, 2022.

The entire John Libby Construction team was a joy to work with. There were obviously many decisions to be made about our new home, and admittedly we didn’t know very much about the build process. We learned as we went and it ultimately ended up being a wonderful experience which resulted in our needs and wants translating into our dream home. The John Libby Construction team uses an online portal which, in our opinion, was a game changer for our build process. We used the technology to execute the decision process for our build, make selections, interact with the team, and even to post pictures of our daughter surveying the progress. We were still living in Bath during the build process and we would occasionally visit the new house to check-in with the team. We were able to meet on site many times with John & team to confirm selections, make modifications, talk through decisions and next steps. All of the contractors were easy to talk to and many of them would even call us in real time to ask about a selection, placement decision or overall design choice. Caitlyn was our Project Lead and did a wonderful job helping us with the selections process. We would meet at the John Libby offices in Harpswell, ME from time to time to confirm tile, counter, fixture and other selections.

The overall communication from the entire John Libby team was fantastic. Our Project Manager, Shaun, was excellent with text/phone communication. We had a LOT of questions and he was patient with us throughout the process. He was in charge of keeping the timeline intact for our build, and it was an excellent experience working with him. We could tell that he had been working with John for many years.

We would highly recommend John Libby Construction to anyone looking to build their dream home in Maine. Their professionalism, experience and skill is top notch and we couldn’t be happier with our new home. This was a long journey for us, and we’re so glad we could include the entire John Libby Construction team in the process.
